Anatomy Instructor Michael Smith has led the students in the execution of this door after the master painting by Gustave Courbet (1819 -1877). Courbet was a bold innovator associated with the Impressionists but is quoted as stating “…when I am dead let this be said of me: 'He belonged to no school, to no church, to no institution, to no academy, least of all to any régime except the régime of liberty.” FALC is once again pleased to be participating in the Doors of Asheville auction for MHO.
