Jennifer Riddle is a local Western North Carolina Artist and Poet from Cruso, a small community below Mount Pisgah. She is self taught and has developed her talent through her unusual perspective within life. Riddle creates work to inspire the soul by paying tribute to the humble and overlooked. Riddle's work is located throughout mountain towns with much of her creations being constructed on rustic memorabilia from homesteads and farms dating back to the late 1800’s. This trash to treasure method has turned into a well oiled bartering system over the years. In a series entitled Secret's of the Heritage Garden she learned to keep her roots close to heart and entwine the struggles of mountain settlers into contemporary art.
