Acrylic on Recycled Door

Joyce is a prolific outsider/folk artist that paints on everything from recycled doors, scrap wood, canvas and paper. She has a passion for vibrant colors and brings a sense of humor to her art.
" I am a compulsive artist… my paint brush is a broom for my brain and the utensil that feeds my soul. I paint everyday because I HAVE TO. My muses include my cats, the friendly ghost for my mother and grandmother…even my demons! Love of color and humor are the driving forces behind my art. Quirky characters that have taken up residence in my subconscious find their way out thru my art…they make me laugh and remind me to lighten up. I love experimenting with new techniques and surfaces to paint on. My art is constantly evolving…it’s how I process emotions and life experiences."
"I have a working space at The Wedge Studios RiverArts district 129 Roberts St. Studio 2B2. Curently exhibiting at 24 Atelier, 24 Lexington Avenue in downtown Asheville. Gallery exhibitions in Miami, FL, Asheville and Henersonville, NC. Private patrons in South Florida, North Carolina, New York, California, Georgia, Tennessee, Schweinfurt Germany, Merida Mexico and Solothurn Switzerland."
