Lynette Miller
Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future
Pigment transfer on paper
Lynette approaches art making as an ongoing method of inquiry, intended to draw attention to ideas, situations and process – not necessarily the art object itself. She cites Dadaist collage, Lazlo Moholy-Nagy and the Bauhaus tradition of experimentation as
major influences. She is very interested in exploring the relationships and new meanings created by the simultaneous viewing of disparate imagery. The questions her art elicits are to offer conversation; a conversation is communication, which increases awareness or understanding—the ultimate encouragement to continue making art.
Lynette completed her Master of Fine Arts at State University in New York in 1990, with a focus on photography and printmaking. Her work has been exhibited throughout the US, most recently in Maryland, Colorado, and Florida.
