Ray Jones
Standing Jewelry Box
Wood
Ray Jones grew up in a small town in Northern California and during the summer months of his college years he worked as a carpenter's assistant. After completing a degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1976, he went to work for an aerospace propulsion firm. For his first house, Ray bought tools instead of furniture and made his own furniture. Then, he turned his attention to making gifts, including a unique jewelry box for his future wife. The box design became the foundation for his woodworking career.
This piece is made of bubinga, madrone, madrone burl and ebony. The box is all wood construction with no metal parts. It features two doors, four drawers and a rotating necklace hanger with 24 posts.
