Rob has been an artist since childhood, but he received a formal education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts. Rob was voted one of the best artists in Western North Carolina by Mountain Express and has been featured in WNC Magazine, Laurel of Asheville, and the Virginia Gazette. You may have seen his art exhibited around Asheville in the Clingman Café, Ananda Hair Studio, Woolworth Walk Art Gallery, The New French Bar, Asheville Area Arts Council, and many other venues.
Bold, vibrant colors and recurring designs are the foundations of Rob’s paintings, which are often created on found objects and architectural salvage. Vintage glass windows illuminate the richness of chosen hues, the depth of textures and the motion of passing brush strokes. Rob experiments with pattern and movement, and he finds inspiration from the ocean and a life spent by the water.
