Jacque Allen enjoys the process of making functional furniture, allowing the aesthetic characteristics of the wood to guide the design process. She studied painting, sculpture and photography at Columbia College and Eastern Kentucky University. She studied furniture design and studio furniture construction at Penland School of Crafts, Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts and John C. Campbell Folk School. She is a graduate of the Haywood Community College in the Professional Crafts Program for wood. Her work is exhibited in the Penland Gallery, the ARTS & Heritage Gallery in the Grove Arcade and The Grovewood Gallery in Asheville.
