Jessica Redford
72° and Sunny with No Chance of Rain
Oil paint and photographs on a full sized door
Jessica studied art at the University of the South in Tennessee and The Center for Advanced Art and Culture in Aix-en-Provence, France. She began painting only after graduating with a BA in photography in 2002, reclaiming her love of drawing, color, experiment and handmade objects. Her newest works examine identity and society, and the search for our authentic voice in the sea of endless communication culture. Jessica’s images are inspired by the stories that she and her daughter share, the gentle love and humor and sadness that punctuate the endless searching for meaningful color and colorful meaning.
She is privately collected throughout the southeast and her work is exhibited locally in various festivals and group shows. Jessica shares a lovely art studio with her husband Joe, in the basement of their NHS (Neighborhood Housing Services) built home. They are grateful to the hard work of area non-profits, like NHS and MHO, and are happy to use their talents to extend these opportunities to others.
This image is in response to the current housing and environmental troubles plaguing our country, and the need to truly rethink what a healthy community looks like.
