Mixed media table incorporating a door and found objects
Pattiy is primarily knows for her textile work including her extraordinary quilts, fleece hats, scarves and blankets, as well as her line of clothing. What you may not know about her is that she has been making sculptural bits and pieces for more than 20 years. This table comes completely from her storage unit of untold treasures. The door itself is a small piece of Asheville history, having served from 1990-1991 as the door to the sound booth for a drug, smoke and alcohol free punk rock club called “Squashpile.” The door is decorated with fragments of other people’s lives that Pattiy has collected and the sculptural bits and pieces that she has been creating.
