Les Caison III
Seeing the Light
Oil & graphite on wood
Les has always drawn from experiences of the world around him. He has always drawn. If you ask him he'll be happy - well, not so happy, to dig through photos and unearth a picture of himself, less than two years of age with pencil in hand, drawing on the bathroom floor.
Multiple layers of oil painting and graphite illustration intertwine, depicting life everyday peppered with social commentary. These "slices of life" or "narrative" paintings house social commentary. They foster emotional exploration as well as model instances for others to consider.
Regardless of where we look, we’re seeing the light.
